Dear families,
As we come to the end of the term, I wanted to explain what a privilege it is for our staff to have the opportunity to educate your children in our school.
At St. Mary's, we believe that education goes beyond textbooks and tests; it is about fostering a love for learning, nurturing individual talents, and instilling values that will guide our students throughout their lives. It is an honour to witness the growth and development of each child under our care.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers and staff for their unwavering commitment to providing a stimulating learning environment for our students. Their passion and dedication are truly commendable, and I am grateful for the positive impact they have on our school community.
I also want to express my appreciation to you, our parents and guardians, for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Your support and involvement in your child's education are invaluable, and we are grateful for the partnership we share in nurturing the future generation.
As we reflect on the achievements and milestones of this term, I am filled with pride at the progress our students have made academically, socially and emotionally. Your children continue to inspire us with their curiosity, creativity, and resilience, and we are privileged to be a part of their journey.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration as we work together to provide the best possible education for our students. I look forward to the upcoming term with optimism and excitement as we continue to grow and learn together.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break, filled with moments of joy and connection with your loved ones. May the spirit of Easter bring you peace and rejuvenation as we prepare to embark on a new chapter in the coming term.
Kind regards,
Julian

These children have spent the last term preparing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, learning about what this special sacrament means as well as inviting the parishioners for morning tea and writing them letters. Last Wednesday, they were able to move forward in their faith journey by participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which was a wonderful celebration of seeking forgiveness for their sins and reconciling with God and the Church community.
A special thank you to Mrs Burgiel and Miss Fixter for their wonderful efforts in preparing these candidates.
May our Lord bless these children on their First Reconciliation, may His love be upon them and His presence always guide them. Congratulations!
Thank you to all the parents, teachers and students who helped make our wonderful 'Outer Space' float this year. What a great effort! it is always fantastic to see such support with community events. There were plenty of proud faces and lots of happy faces. Well done to everyone involved!
Wow! We have some serious talent here at St Mary's Maffra. Last Friday our students reveiled their stellar Dance Stomp performance in front of extremely proud parents, grandparents, family and community. On a day that shone as bright as our students, they displayed their talent, their pride and their happiness. Students had rehearsed all week before showcasing their final moves.
Thank you to everyone who were able to come and support the children.
Congratulations to Lara, Georgia and Emmanuel who competed in the SSV Tennis competition in Sale last Friday. They showed great determination and spirit during the tournament. It is a credit to all 3 students who represented St Mary's Maffra with great pride and determination. Well done!
On the 22nd of March three of our 5/6 students represented our school in the SSV Wellington division tennis tournament in Sale. The girls played a total of 7 games including the finals. There were a total of 28 boys in the division battling against each other, the top four students from both the boys and girls moving on to regionals in Traralgon.
Georgia says "Even though I came 6th, I had fun playing the games with the other girls and I hope to do it again some day".
One of our students, Lara, came first overall and is moving on to regionals.
