Dear Families,
This week, I’d like to take a moment to highlight the incredible work of our Parents and Friends Committee (P&F), the vital role they play in our school community, and the many ways their efforts benefit our students.
The P&F work tirelessly throughout the year to plan, organise, and run a variety of events and activities. Some of these include BBQs, school discos, the hot cross bun/pie/apple drives, movie night, St Mary’s Christmas celebration, the fun run, special food days, and Mardi Gras—just to name a few. Their passion lies in creating fun and engaging experiences for our students while also raising funds to support key needs across the school.
Over the past few years, the P&F has helped fund important additions such as our netball and basketball rings, interactive TVs, iPads, and the landscaping of our school grounds. While the school budget covers the essentials for quality education, there are often valuable opportunities that fall outside of this scope. Thanks to the P&F, we are currently in the process of purchasing a new microphone and speaker system for assemblies and gatherings, as well as new monkey bars for the playground—initiatives that wouldn’t be possible without their support.
I would like to sincerely thank every member of the P&F for their dedication and contribution to our school. We are truly grateful for the time, energy, and care you put into making St Mary’s such a vibrant place for our children.
I also encourage all members of our school community to consider joining the P&F. Whether you can offer a little time or a lot, your involvement makes a big difference. As the saying goes, “many hands make light work,” and even a small contribution can help expand the opportunities we can provide for our students.
Keep an eye on Dojo for details about the next meeting, or feel free to reach out to Bree or myself if you’re interested in getting involved.
Wishing you a relaxing and joyful weekend with your families.
Kind regards,
Julian

This award is given to a student in recognition of their effort in promoting The Resilience Project’s core principles of gratitude, empathy, mindfulness, emotional literacy and our school values of respect, act and learn.
One student will receive this award at assembly each fortnight. All slips will be counted over the term and the house with the most slips will enjoy a reward at the end of term!

To celebrate student's achievements, we will be presenting children with Star Of The Week awards. This is a self nominated award of something a student is proud of. It could be something academic, sports related, or a personal achievement. Have you learnt to ride a bike? Won 1st place in a dance competition? Read a book by yourself? Anything that makes you proud!
Forms can be found on the link below.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to run the relays, as the rain came pelting down and the wind was wild.
A big thank you to all the parents who helped out with events or came along to cheer on the kids—it made a huge difference.
Well done, Team St Mary’s!
We have our school Book Fair next week. This is a great way to purchase a new book while also supporting our school.
