On Monday the 12th of May 2025 St Mary's Maffra went to compete at cross country in Heyfield. When we got there, we all jumped off the bus and went to get ready before the races began. First up was the 9/10 girls at 10:30 in which Luella Horsford came first running 2km.

Next,  was the 9/10 boys at 10:55 and Freddie Moyle came first and Henry Horsford came third also running 2km.

After that, 11 girls raced at 11:15  and Hadley Parer came 4th and Emily Murphy came 5th for 3km.

Then 11 boys raced at 11:35 and Owen Crutchfield came 7th running 3km.

Later, after that, the 12/13 girls raced at 11:55 where Elke Horsford came first and Larni Burns came 2nd.

For the last race of the day, the 12/13 boys raced at 12:15 where Ben Murphy came 2nd and Cooper Battista came 4th.

All 34 students who went to cross country today had a go and didn't give up. 

We would like to wish the 11 students who have made it onto the next stage a huge good luck for Monday when they travel to Yarram to run.

We would like to thank the parents and teachers for helping out  and especially Chloe Orchard for doing all of the work and planning out of the whole thing.

Overall,  St. Mary’s won out of all schools!
