Wellington Hockey
My name is Jude Bergmann, I am the new Junior Recruitment Officer with Wellington Hockey Club.
I am reaching out to all the schools in the Wellington Shire to invite you to participate in our Come & Try / Registration Day.
Wellinton Hockey Club is an inclusive and family orientated Club. We are consistently improving our hockey space and continue to be an award-winning Club, receiving awards from the Victorian Government and Hockey Victoria. Most recently we were a finalist in 2024 for the Gippstar Club of the Year. Many of our junior players have gone on to represent Gippsland in the Hockey Victoria Junior State Championships.

The Club competes in the East Gippsland Hockey Association competing against six other Clubs from around Sale through to Orbost.
Wellington Hockey Club fields six teams: Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 18, Women (female only), and Open (mixed).
We have been offering a number of All-Abilities programs, across the Wellington Shire, to both School and Adult groups for over six years. For a number of years, the Club also ran indoor hockey sessions for both Junior and All-Ability groups, accessible to all community members across the region.
We are very focussed on our junior cohort and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our players is at the forefront of our trainings, games and events. Our hockey games are played in the traditional format of an 11-a-side team sport (on a synthetic surface), however, there are now several adaptations to allow us to cater for all in our diverse community.
Please see the attached flyer for all details of our Come & Try session. We will be having a Sausage Sizzle, welcoming prospective new members along with current players. This will be a fun and interactive event where no hockey experience is necessary and all equipment is provided. Our coaching team are experienced at catering to all age groups and abilities while our friendly committee members will be on hand to answer any hockey questions you might have. There is no cost to participate and we welcome ALL!!
